The Portuguese brand IVO® was born in Santa Catarina, in the municipality of Caldas da Rainha, through the determination of João Ivo, who, in the mid-1940s, travelled across the country by bicycle selling pocket knives and who, together with Maria das Dores, would later establish a small production unit behind the family home. Founded in 1954, the Portuguese brand IVO® transformed those humble beginnings into a benchmark industrial project, preserving across generations the knowledge, precision and dedication that define Portugal’s cutlery-making tradition. Specialising in the manufacture of cutlery for domestic and professional use, it produces knives, cleavers, forks and spatulas designed to meet the demands of those who value accuracy, durability and confidence in every movement. Its development is built on a balance between experience and innovation, supported by investment in technology, research and the creation of solutions that respond to the changing needs of the sector, without losing its connection to the expertise refined over more than seven decades. Now led by the third generation of the family, it exports the vast majority of its production and brings the quality of Portuguese cutlery to dozens of international markets, establishing Portugal as a country capable of transforming industrial tradition into value recognised far beyond its borders. More than a manufacturer of cutting tools, the Portuguese brand IVO® represents a story of hard work, continuity and ambition, created on Portuguese soil and perfected for the world, with the same strength and precision with which a fine blade stands the test of time.
