Portuguese brand SIZ® is a fashion project created in 2016 by twin sisters Raquel and Sofia Rodrigues, two designers who found in the connection between creativity, awareness and place the foundations for building a distinctive identity. Based in Sesimbra, between the proximity of the sea and the presence of the hills, Portuguese brand SIZ® develops its collections from a studio where design, research, pattern cutting, material experimentation and much of the creative process remain closely connected to those who conceive each piece. The name itself derives from an abbreviation of the English word “sister”, directly referencing the relationship between the two founders and a sense of complementarity that is also reflected in the brand’s visual language. The aesthetic of Portuguese brand SIZ® combines clean lines with more artisanal approaches, bringing together an urban, relaxed and contemporary expression with the exploration of fabrics, textures, techniques and details that give each collection its character. Small scale production, a preference for working with local professionals whenever external support is required, and a strong focus on making considered use of resources reflect an approach to fashion grounded in proximity and responsibility. This awareness is equally present in the choice of materials, in the development of pieces designed to remain in the wardrobe over time, and in a philosophy that seeks to challenge the disposable logic of the industry.
