The Portuguese brand FUTAH® was founded in 2013 on the Portuguese coast, driven by the vision of sisters Catarina and Mariana Cunha and their cousin Ricardo Ramos, three founders who saw in beach towels an opportunity to transform a functional product into an object of identity, freedom and design. Inspired by a trip to Tunisia and by the art of traditional Arab weaving, the Portuguese brand FUTAH® reinterpreted that heritage with a Portuguese soul, creating lightweight, resistant, absorbent and quick-drying towels with patterns influenced by Portugal’s beaches. Its value proposition lies in the combination of simplicity, comfort and aesthetic differentiation, valuing the use of cotton in its towels and a strong connection to Portuguese know-how. Over time, the brand expanded its universe to include ponchos, beachwear, accessories and clothing, establishing itself as a brand with roots in summer, but with the ambition to be present throughout the year. True to the Atlantic nature that gave rise to it, the Portuguese brand FUTAH® builds its identity around the beach, the sea and a conscious relationship with the environment, reinforced by sustainability initiatives and its collaboration with WWF®. Today, the brand represents a contemporary interpretation of Portuguese products: practical, visually recognisable and capable of reaching international markets, while remaining firmly anchored in Portuguese beach culture and in the appreciation of a free, simple way of life, close to nature.
