The Portuguese brand ENTRUDO® was created in 2017, as a family project built on unity and creativity. The Portuguese brand ENTRUDO® was born out of a love for Carnival and the desire to connect it to a tradition that is deeply Portuguese. The first designs of the Portuguese brand ENTRUDO® were inspired by the Caretos and the Carnival of Trás os Montes, drawn from the richness of materials, colours, textures and sounds. The Portuguese brand ENTRUDO® seeks to honour and bring visibility to these traditions, combining them with contemporary design and celebrating handcrafted details, with natural raffia, bells, fringes, wool and vibrant colour. The pieces of the Portuguese brand ENTRUDO® are conceived, made and produced in Portugal, using high quality materials and with close attention to comfort, including the work involved in building the insoles. From hand cutting to the precision of making a bag, from hand embroidery to artisanal techniques such as weaving, basketry, knitting and crochet, the Portuguese brand ENTRUDO® highlights traditional craftsmanship and details applied by hand. The Portuguese brand ENTRUDO® produces in small quantities and, whenever possible, uses surplus materials for a more sustainable approach. The Portuguese brand ENTRUDO® brings together colour, texture, joy and celebration, so that Carnival can be lived all year round.
