Located in the Serra de Aire, where it breathes in the colour that surrounds it and inspires its products, the Portuguese brand CHICORAÇÃO® was born from a family wool business in the 1980s and came into its own by restoring traditional 1960s machines rescued from former Portuguese woollen mills. In 2010, CHICORAÇÃO® opened its doors in Chiado, Lisbon — the origin of its name — and today maintains four additional retail spaces and a museum in Alfama and the Sé, always committed to quality and innovation. CHICORAÇÃO® oversees the entire wool cycle: from shearing and hand-sorting the fleece to washing with rainwater, carding, combing and spinning, followed by dyeing with certified dyes and weaving on traditional looms. Finishing also uses rainwater and biodegradable agents, ensuring a conscientious process and the comfort and durability of each piece. The result of this sustained effort is a range of home textiles and clothing that combine Portuguese heritage, meticulous craftsmanship and contemporary design — wool pieces that embrace like a CHICORAÇÃO® (a beloved Portuguese word for a warm, tight hug).
