The Portuguese brand BIG RAVEN PORTUGAL develops a conscious vision of fashion from Portugal, bringing together identity, local production and a more responsible approach to resources. Created by Rui Simões and Charlie Guell and deeply connected to Baleal and to the culture of the sea, the brand has grown gradually while maintaining close and direct relationships with its partners, producers and the people involved in the project. Each piece is designed and produced in Portugal, in close collaboration with small factories, family-run businesses and skilled professionals who help preserve the tradition and quality of the Portuguese textile industry. The choice of materials follows the same philosophy, with a strong emphasis on textile surplus and responsible materials, giving existing fabrics a new purpose while reducing the need for new production and the waste associated with the fast pace of the fashion industry. Rather than following short-lived trends, the Portuguese brand BIG RAVEN PORTUGAL seeks to create timeless, functional pieces with a strong identity, designed to remain in the wardrobe and gain meaning through use. The human dimension also plays a central role in the project, through the recognition of the people involved in production, fair working conditions and close, respectful relationships with its partners. Rui and Charlie travel across Portugal in search of small production units, new collaborators and forgotten fabrics that can be brought back into circulation through new pieces, turning each collection into an expression of the creativity, resources and manufacturing capabilities found within the country. Between the Atlantic, the land and a textile industry with deep national roots, the Portuguese brand BIG RAVEN PORTUGAL champions a way of dressing in which aesthetics and responsibility go hand in hand, showing that producing in Portugal can also mean producing with purpose, proximity and respect for what already exists.
