The Portuguese brand GRAMA® breathes new life into vinyl and a way of experiencing music that spans generations, combining a passion for sound with pride in making records in Portugal. Having begun operating in Nogueira da Maia in late 2021, it brought vinyl record pressing back to the country, around three decades after its last pressing plant closed. Today, based in Cerca, in the parish of Maceira, Leiria, it brings together a team with backgrounds in creating, releasing and promoting music, placing that expertise at the service of every project. From mastering to pressing, sleeve printing and packaging solutions, it guides the transformation of a musical work into a physical object with an identity of its own. The option to produce small runs, starting at 100 copies, and to choose from different colours, effects and finishes allows it to cater for independent musicians and larger record labels alike, preserving the individuality of each release. The care taken in production, record inspection and packing by hand reflects an attention to detail that values not only what is heard, but also what is seen, touched and treasured. With projects for artists such as Salvador Sobral, Rui Reininho and Rita Redshoes, and a reach extending across several international markets, the Portuguese brand GRAMA® showcases the capabilities of Portuguese manufacturing beyond the country’s borders. More than reviving a format, it helps sustain a culture of listening and brings artistic creation closer to production in Portugal. In every groove, it finds a way to connect memory and the future, affirming a Portuguese identity that does not simply look back on past achievements, but continues to create, transform and make itself heard.
