The world doesn’t need another snack brand but it needs a better relationship with food. And that’s what the Portuguese brand TARWI® is all about. Following a healthy eating can be pretty exhausting. Between the overload of information, the revolving door of diets and the lack of clarity on what actually works, it’s easy to be put off.The brand TARWI® has been there. So made its purpose to normalise access to healthier foods by creating high quality products that are full of natural flavour, convenient and easy to understand. TARWI®’s journey started with lupin beans because its founders grew up eating them, and because it is the best plant protein they could find. That part was simple, finding organic lupin beans less so! But they didn’t give up easily. They found a worldclass lupin researcher (they are not kidding…) and a small producer of organic certified lupin beans, and got to work, knowing that it would be tough to build that value chain, but it was the right thing to do. To fulfil its purpose the brand TARWI® also adapted the lupin beans for you, the modern consumer – TARWI® added taste with salt, chilli and basil, not ‘flavours’… actually the real thing. The brand TARWI® added convenience by substituting the traditional brine with individual pouches that you can take anywhere. The brand TARWI® made them easier to eat by finding lupin beans with a shell so soft you can eat the whole thing. The brand TARWI® kept things simple by having only three ingredients plus a natural acid that preserves all the nutrients. The brand TARWI® knows that can’t create a revolution alone, so TARWI® strives to build lasting relationships with customers, partners and suppliers. And because TARWI® is ambitious but simple and down to earth. At the core, TARWI® is authentically human.
