A new version of sponge cake was born in Landim, municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, and has been asserting itself in the context of Portuguese sweets – PÃO DE LÓ BURGUÊS®. With a pure, sophisticatedly simple and honest interior, PÃO DE LÓ BURGUÊS® in touch conveys a strange way of being. Its colors stimulate the appetite of the most resistant. Its golden tones are reminiscent of the late afternoons of the Alentejo plains on the torrid days of summer and the brightness of its white color, the snow of the Serra da Estrela when we saw it in the distance, on the winter days when we were unable to reach the Tower. In the mouth it is surprising, but uncomplicated. On the surface it presents a firm, slightly crunchy and caramelized texture, in the middle a creamy, delicate and smooth texture that crumbles in the mouth and on the base a light and soft, slightly moist flour, which makes us wish that this moment will never end. His name is strong, pretentious and daring, but he is humble and easy to relate to. As of today it has become everyone’s business.
