After spending three years in Rio de Janeiro, Margarida e Rui have returned to Portugal in 2016 and create the brand M.U.S.G.O DESIGN E PRODUTOS ARTESANAIS®. In their studio, they design a range of furniture, with their lamps grabbing the limelight. During their execution, the designers use recycled wood from furniture, doors, floors, and structures from old Portuguese homes, giving them a fresh lease of life. Through the creativity and respect for the characteristics of the materials used, the brand M.U.S.G.O DESIGN E PRODUTOS ARTESANAIS® creates practical design solutions based on sustainability and simplicity. Currently the brand M.U.S.G.O DESIGN E PRODUTOS ARTESANAIS® sees how vulnerable our world can be and all the harm we have been causing. We must slow down. If we stop and think, most of our choices are spontaneous towards what is easier to do or cheaper to buy. Those same choices have consequences attached, they take us to over buy short life low quality products, discard and buy again. Products that lack originality and are purposeless. At the brand M.U.S.G.O DESIGN E PRODUTOS ARTESANAIS® all efforts are made to fights these consumption habits. M.U.S.G.O DESIGN E PRODUTOS ARTESANAIS®’s products are built from old woods that had another life, debris from old Portuguese house constructions, like doors, windows, floors and roof structures. The brand M.U.S.G.O DESIGN E PRODUTOS ARTESANAIS® is very careful choosing materials, including organic varnish, always aiding the local and small familiar businesses, the ones with personality and love. Also, the brand M.U.S.G.O DESIGN E PRODUTOS ARTESANAIS®’s production is conscious of the environment and ecosystems, with no pollution.
