BRAND DUB – DRESSED UP BOOKS®

The Portuguese brand DUB – DRESSED UP BOOKS® was born as a shared project between a mother and a daughter, Vera and Madalena, 30 years apart in age and from different backgrounds (Languages and Literature and Architecture). The idea was to create a fabric cover that would be practical, reusable, suitable for different shapes and sizes and completely washable. If reading is like riding a bike, you never forget how to, and you learn when you are six, a book is all inclusive in its audience and can be appealing to both grandchildren and grandparents. It can be read and reread, and interpreted in several ways by different people, throughout space and time. The book as an object is part of the lives of people from all over the world in all sorts of different situations, from long trips and travel to the short commute to work. A book can be a companion in a coffee shop or a way to kill time in a waiting room. Books are constantly tossed inside backpacks, purses, beach bags, briefcases and even grocery bags. The brand DUB – DRESSED UP BOOKS® protects your precious books and you can get in different patterns that are constantly being refurbished so that each book cover is an original piece and Jack and Jill sitting in the same coffee shop aren’t reading “the same book”.
