Founded in 2009, the Portuguese brand CHOCOLATARIA EQUADOR® aims to ensure vertical integration of the entire transformation process of the fine chocolate, from the plantation to the chocolate. With strong links to São Tomé e Príncipe, CHOCOLATARIA EQUADOR® is proud to be independent of the massive global chain of the cocoa beans trade market. The Portuguese chocolate brand CHOCOLATARIA EQUADOR® is born from an emotional and historical relationship between two countries, Portugal and São Tomé e Príncipe. It emerges from the desire of all the parties to meeting the past and value the cocoa heritage, by the rehabilitation of the Santo António plantation, in São Tomé. Besides transforming the cacao and its subproducts into chocolate, the brand CHOCOLATARIA EQUADOR® works to recover the international prestige of São Tomé e Príncipe as a cocoa producer of excellence, by respecting the communities and valuing the producers for the excellent quality of the products they offer. CHOCOLATARIA EQUADOR® is focused on the quality of the cocoa and on the rehabilitation of the varieties that were, originally, brought by the Portuguese from Amazonia to this island, around 1850. The cacao of the brand CHOCOLATARIA EQUADOR®, mostly Amelonado variety, has a complex aromatic richness and a unique sensorial profile, specific of this variety and terroir. The brand CHOCOLATARIA EQUADOR® works the cacao since its origin until the chocolate bean-to-bar, thus completing a vertical integration of the transformation process of the chocolate. CHOCOLATARIA EQUADOR® represents a new concept, based on the deep respect, social and environment responsibility, preserving ad improving the welfare.
