BRAND BLACK PIG ALENTEJO DISTILLERY®
The love and affection of its creator, Miguel Ângelo Nunes, for the Alentejo and its ecosystem of cork oaks, cork, animals, plants, beaches and fields, gave rise to the Portuguese brand of gin BLACK PIG ALENTEJO DISTILLERY®. In 2007, the brand started to plant arbutus trees, the first arbutus orchard, on the Alentejo coast, for the production of arbutus brandy. In 2018, the brand BLACK PIG ALENTEJO DISTILLERY® distillery was built, located in Santo André, on the Alentejo coast. It is in Nature that it all begins. It is from it that BLACK PIG ALENTEJO DISTILLERY® harvests wild botanicals for its production. After distillation, the botanicals harvested from nature are again integrated in the form of fertilizer or for animal feed. Thus fulfilling a sustainable cycle. That is, back to Nature, what Nature gives. The process of harvesting biological botanicals is done manually, in the orchards of the brand BLACK PIG ALENTEJO DISTILLERY®, where only the freshest are selected. After harvesting, the botanicals are fermented using ancestral Alentejo traditions. In the handcrafted copper still, the “grandmother’s pan” by the brand BLACK PIG ALENTEJO DISTILLERY®, the botanicals are distilled, transforming it into wonderful fragrances. At the end of the distillation, the brand BLACK PIG ALENTEJO DISTILLERY® places the labels and manually bottles the wonderful nectar. At the brand BLACK PIG ALENTEJO DISTILLERY® nothing is lost, everything is transformed.
